Two Outta Three Ain't Bad

My nephew's getting married!

I know, it looks like I'm really excited about that, what with the exclamation point and all. I think it's more appropriate to say, I'm stunned more than anything. This is my older nephew I'm talking about, C, the one who's working in Iraq. He and his fiancee, N, have been together for eight years. Eight years! That amount of time is almost unimaginable to me. I mean, in terms of a relationship, eight years would be either 'fish or cut bait,' or 'we should've been married five years ago.' But whatever. They've only actually been engaged since Thanksgiving, and the wedding's in May.

So, first my niece, now my older nephew. The younger nephew has actually just (sort of) broken up with his girlfriend, so he's not going to make it a triple crown anytime soon. That leaves my older sister...and me.

Stranger things have happened.
